“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed, yet only if there is a light from within.”

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

At the moment,  if may feel as though we are all being pounded in a crucible of awakening. That we need to brace ourselves for a surreal ride. Whether we are ready to admit it or not we have collectively begun to wake up to a strange new porous reality.

This process goes beyond any mundane arguments and differences between viewpoints. There is something bigger happening and it is most important to be aware and do two things. Firstly, come out of the digital fog and secondly, get over your fear and confusion. One needs to think rationally, to compost one’s thoughts and not be blithely optimistic.

The last two years have shown where the polarities and fissures are in our democracies. Now, reality, with its magnifying glass is highlighting all the ugly divisions on so many levels and  in so many ways. This is a global phenomenon

It is important to be aware of the denial and the delusions.

We are being asked: What are you going to do differently now that you know the truth?

The Karmic Sweep

Know what you want to change, what you want to resolve and eliminate AND what you want to create. This a moment where you get to review, rethink and recreate in just about any facet of your life. You have the opportunity to work from the roots of your existence upwards and outwards. Stay close to the ground and work from your core reality.

It is almost as if time is up on what you used to be. How you thought about yourself and what you believed was possible for you.

As Petrea King, said recently on a webinar: “Who we are is not confined by what we have done, but what we stand for – before we were shaped”.

• Are you living the life you were meant to on this planet?
• Where have you possibly been dumbed down?

Maintaining our inner discernment, investigating the facts, composting our thoughts to find our truth. Live true to our values, our morals, knowing what replenishes us spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally. Quieten the mind.

A person who demonstrated this ‘seeing clearly’ recently is the former WTA Number One in tennis – Ash Barty – who no doubt surprised many with her truth and her retirement. And yet, it shouldn’t have.

Following her thrilling Australian Open championship in January this year, Barty’s intriguing “mind coach” Ben Crowe, who played a key role in her tight-knit team was interviewed. The clues were there in his comment: tennis is what she does, he told me —  but it’s not WHO she is.

“Ash has been on a beautiful journey and done an enormous amount of heavy lifting to work out who she is and find that unconditional sense of self…,” he said. “When you know who you are, and you can own your story… you don’t get distracted by these expectations of others or expectations of outcome.”

Crowe said, the two key questions we all have to confront: “Who am I?” And, “What am I here to do?”

Knowing your dreams, and the essential elements that support your dreams is NOT an easy journey for most of us.

It takes courage to evolve – to increasingly know more about yourself and everything else and not become destabilised in any way because of it.

Olav Hauge’s poem Your Way, reflects what Ash Barty has done 0 there is no right way or wrong way, this is my way. The poem’s words are reflective of many conversations I have had recently with colleagues and clients.

No-one has marked out the road

you are to take

out into the unknown

out in the blue.
This is your road.

Only you

will take it. And there’s no

turning back.

The “What’s Next” seems to be on many people’s minds this year. Maybe it has always been there, but we have to been too preoccupied or busy to notice. As a colleague in Paris last week said: “it is that sense of connection to what is important”.  Getting ultra-clear on your own values and principles and orient your daily life around them.

Reflection and Journal

• How will you Trust your own inner guidance above everything else.

• How can you become more Eco focused, less Ego focused.

• What practice will enhance Discernment between truth, facts and spin.
